This site used to be a detailed reference guide for pocket
watch style compasses. I began collecting compasses in 1998.
The information I gathered about these instruments over the
years can now by found in my book Compass Chronicles.My book, Compass Chronicles published on February
28th, 2010, includes all of the information that used
to be available on my site and much, much more.My book describes over 200 different compasses and it has
over 500 colorful photographs and illustrations throughout.
